As an investor, you must understand that MLS is not the only way that individuals as well as real estate brokers and agents can market your property. Many sellers choose not to use MLS to list and advertise their property, keeping the sale private. This is known as an Off-Market Listing. Even though a seller may not choose to list their property on MLS, they can still request the assistance of a real estate agent or broker to help sell their property, commonly known as a “pocket listing”. The agent or broker would still be representing the client, but not marketing the property on MLS.
